Hifimediy direct out cs4398 DAC - Page 22

Hi I'm quite new to this forum. After reading a few pages of this thread, I went and ordered the DAC.

Question: will I have issue sending the output of this DAC directly into my Rotel integrated amp (RA-02) which I use as per-amp only.

Hi, whether a DAC can work with a amp, that depend on the output level of the DAC, and the gain of the amp. Also, make sure the input impedance of amp is no less than the minimum resistance of DAC. The DA-X0 output up to about 3.4Vpp on coupled output or 6.8Vpp on balanced output. And CS4398 itself drives 1kohm min load.

Hi thanks for replying. This is a commercial amps. I can just measure the input impedance by putting a multimeter across the inputs?

Yes. But I think most of amps has higher input impedance that can be used. Class-T amps is 20kohm and some class-AB chip amps even higher (up to 100kohm).

It looks like RA-02 has input impedance of 47kOhm which should be OK for the DAC?

Hi, we use the small switch board to set DSD over-sampled rate. State list bellow.

You have said that there is no I2S connection on this dac but schouldn't that
be possible if the SCR is removed ?
