Default I/V transformer in DAC taken from computer network card?!

Just heard a rumor that output transformer in DAC can be taken from computer network card (instead of those from Lundahl).
Is that true?!
If so, I can try to do this with my PCM63 just for initial testing. To be replaced them in future, of course.

nope Bubba , at least to my knowledge ;

those are 1:1 creatures ( whatever exact No. of windings is ) , and for that task you need at least 1:7 ratio .

with proper inductance in primary ; read : biggish one

There is a lot you can do. But that does not mean you should.
