I am interested in reading feedback with regards to this too
I am contemplating an NOS (No Oversampling DAC) Ready built DAC board off of the Bay Thanks

IMO no contest. The 1543 sounds musical, laid back, but lacks resolution due it's internal design. The 1541 is an much better chip but more difficult to implement. When done right, like in example ECdesign's DAC MK7, it's resolution is awesome. In my experiences there the S2 version of the TDA1541 is MUCH better the non S2 version in sense of resolution and noise.
