Do DACs usually do any kind of interpolation after reconstructing the signal?
Is it analog interpolation or just adding more steps to the output waveform? |

No. The reconstruction filter is providing interpolation - between the discrete points of the digital signal. Some DACs do digital interpolation prior to this too to make the reconstruction filter easier to implement.
