Default Bypassing opamp and using transformers...can it be easily done on this kit?

Hello,
I was wondering of someone could help me do this if possible.

Please refer to this kit:
DAC 2496 (AK4393) DAC KIT With CS8416+AK4393+5532 | eBay

I have a pair of Edcor 10k:10k transformers that were pulled from another DAC project. I was wondering if these could be used with this kit to replace/bypass the NE5532 opamp on the board. If possible could someone tell me exactly what I would need to do/where to make the connections?

It may not be an upgrade in the end but I am learning and like to experiment.

Thanks for your help,
Jeff

Hi Jeff

If you look at the AK4393 datasheet here:

http://www.asahi-kasei.co.jp/akm/en/...k4393_f02e.pdf

Pins 20 - 23 are the outputs. I presume, looking at the ebay listing, that the group of 4 resistors between the DAC chip and op-amp are on the DAC output pins. Connect the Edcor's primaries to these.

You should probably measure the value of the resistors first and see if they need to be changed to get the correct loading.
