Optical digital input to SAA7341 decoder/DAC

Hi,
I have a nice old B&O CD/Amp that has a SAA7341 DAC. What I'd like to do is modify it to add some kind of digital input socket (optical / SPDIF) so that I can connect PS3 and other digital sources and make use of the excellent amplifier that this system has with the benefits of digital sources.

My thoughts were to find the digital input line to the DAC from the CD module and somehow 'tap' into this with my external digital signal.

Can anyone suggest an interface circuit and which pin on the SAA7341 to use?

One can read that stuff till the end of time, it won't help with the SAA7341. The only optical input it will accept is from the laser.

I know that. There are many who don't and I would prefer they do a little research to figure it out. This IS a DIY audio site after all. If someone wants to add a SPDIF receiver chip to his unit, who's to stop him, but I'm not going to figure it out for him. If someone needs a little help that's a different matter.

I apologize, after reading a little of the chip's datasheet, what I wrote is a moot point. It's an 'all in one' chip that has no input options.
