I'm working on a DAC chip with differential outputs.
I've accidentally lifted L+ and R- pads from the circuit board. Is there any reason I can't use L- and R+ outputs? Would this result in throwing the speakers out of phase? |

Hi,
it depends on the topology of the current sources within the DAC. But most current steering DACs I know must have their outputs connected to a low-impedance current path. For example You could use a single DAC-output of the PCM1794A (and alikes) if You connect the inverted partner output to gnd. jauu Calvin |

This is a CS4397 that has voltage source outputs.

Yes, your speakers will be 180 degrees out of phase.

Managed to tap the L- and R- pins right on the chip.
I need to stop screwing with this DAC.
