I just cracked mine open for the first time. Initial impression is that considerable room exists for improvement:
DAC: AKM4385 (looks like the AKM4382a is a drop in replacement for an improvement of 6 dB SNR). It's not the 4395 by any means, though. Op Amps: 3 JRC4556 for 2 balanced outputs and headphone. Definitely want a different opamp to drive low impedance IEMs. Caps: lots of Elna electrolytic caps, but mostly pretty small ones; lots of room for more bigger caps. Pix later. Going out for a bit. |
