Id payt he $1000 if it was a 4way and sonically superior
so would i , if they had a box version , i already own minidsp and after the learning period it actualy sounds much better than i thought it would

Similar, in that both are DSP-based digital crossovers. Otherwise, not much equivalence (apart from the rough functional equivalence).

Not much about the Hypex DSP so far.

Hi Julf

Would you mind expanding a little bit ? Its difficult to compare for a novice, am loooking for digital to digital DSP.

Well, I don't really know enough about chaparK's project to be able to do a side-by-side comparison. All I can say is that the hardware is different and the software is different

What turned me away from that project was the unbalanced outputs, but different people have different requirements...

Am I correct that there are no processed digital outputs! just the balanced audio out after the internal DAC's? so we cant use our own DAC's.

You mean in Hypex ? There are in Charpak´s

Question pending anyway, how to sync the different Dacs, they have to be in slave mode if i understand correctly. Not all may offer this easily at hand

That's what I meant, no digital from the Hypex for so cant use own dacs. Regarding clocks please see Asynchronous I2S FIFO project, an ultimate weapon to fight the jitter its a long read but worth it. especially if (when ) the multi channel version is offered.

How many of us would really want to do that? The hypex DACs aren't good enough? How would you synchronize the external DACs?

As long as you are aware of the implications of the unsynchronized buffering approach used in that design.
