Hi. I use an ESI Gigaport HD 8-channel USB sound card, but the output is dreadfully low for my application. The USB-DAC is an AK4358, which has a nominal 2.5v (or thereabouts) output, but it passes through an op amp with a <1 gain. My thought was to put together my own, but use better op amps with gain ~1.
It needs to be 8 channels though. Is there an alternative chip out there? Because I can't seem to find the AK4358 in the usual places. I have the option of using firewire too. |
