ok guys, i'm crashing now, but i'll send out some PM's tonight rather than just posting here in case not everyone is checking the thread. i've managed to get some very decent pricing on the caps, wont be able to tell exactly till I get final numbers, i'll mention pricing in PM rather than here.

I can get most of the orders in 4.7uf with available stock, or a couple bucks more for 6.8uf for the rest to make up the difference. I cannot get enough for all of the orders in just 4.7 without making a custom order which takes 5-6 weeks, same with the 6.8uf, it will have to be a mix of the 2 if we wish to avoid that

it would be good if I can get some indication of if there is anyone that these values are not large enough for, I have not received a single request for the calculator to figure that out, I asked last week but didnt even get a single post apart from opc. these 2 will cover the vast majority of amps, but if you use an amp with a particularly low input impedance, like a tube amp, best you crunch the numbers, I cannot read minds so I need your help here. i'm not going to order 10uf for everyone when it adds expense and physical size needlessly for most people.

I sent a message about the enclosures via their site, but I think the message window mustve timed out, I got an error when my browser was drawing the next page even though it said it was sent, so i'll resend this afternoon. i'll be probably needing someone in Asia to help with this part by taking delivery and inspecting a couple samples before sending out, so if you can help with this let me know. I dont know how tax works over there, whether its better for the purchase to be made from outside the country or not, so we dont all pay local tax?

I have no problem to use larger cap.

Although I won't join the GB for the enclosures, I am willing to help on the delivery as there is no tax in Hong Kong and postage is relatively cheaper. But I have little worry about the packing, are they individually packed?

I would be interested in caps depending on the price. Didn't add my name to the list yet. Both 4.7 and 6.8 uf can work for me.

Are the Zfoils ordered already? You (qusp) hinted at it, but have not stated it in plain. If not, I would be interested in getting some of those, as well as some Auricaps, Keratherm and the enclosure. I'll add myself to the list as soon as I get confirmation I'm not too late.

no they arent ordered, I dont have >6K to put up for the GB, not a chance I would do it based on my previous experience with the number of people that normally back out when they find out the price even when theyve been warned, we arent talking normal signal level Zfoils here, they are considerably more expensive.

its all organized, but i'm sending out PM's tonight to make sure people are up for it. i'm just afraid that there is a large number of people that have put their name down just because they want good performance without having any idea what everything will cost.

this goes for the caps too, I can secure a better price for them than people will get through any retailer by putting them through as an OEM, but I dont know how many people have bothered to look at what they cost retail before putting their name down and will still balk at the price saying its too expensive even though its considerably lower than even the 20% sale discount price through PCX (who would probably not have enough of one value either). a lot of people pulling out would mean the price would have to be worked out and adjusted to fit the new number, I would have to say oh no sorry I dont want that many anymore and send out more messages again.

i'm also working out the details for the value, still only 2 people have said its OK for 4.7uf or not. I confirmed I only get the discounted price per value, so i'm trying to find a value that they have the full number ready for sale, to avoid the 5-6 week build time.

but i'm not getting a lot of help here guys as to what values people are OK with, its a bit chicken and egg.

in simple terms, no the GB's arent closed. but do realize that for 4 caps and 8 Zfoils is likely to cost $325-350 ballpark, i'm crunching the numbers in a moment so dont hold me to that.

i'm also trying to avoid sending out a message for caps and another one for resistors, same with chasing payments, I dont want to have to do everything 2 or 3 times, so i'll probably just send out the same message to everyone, just ignore the parts that dont apply to you.

thanks mate, i'm still in talks with them, they only have 56 x 4.7uf in stock, which isnt enough to cover everyone IF everyone follows through. I only get discounted per value, so if there is more than 56 pieces confirmed wanted, I either have to get them to make the rest to fill the order in 5-6 weeks, or we get another value to fill the rest of the order and dont get the 50-100 piece discount for those... so it all gets a bit complicated.

I've emailed them to see if there is any value from 4.7-10uf that they have enough in stock to fill an order of 70-90 pieces, so everyone gets the same discount. its not a huge amount more for 10uf vs 4.7uf, so it would still be cheaper for everyone to get 10uf, IF they can cover the order from stock.
