Hi Guys,

The board has been updated, and I'm ready to send it in for fabrication.

I managed to find a layout that will accommodate the Acko, the BII and the BIII. I have attached the updated layout for people to take a look at.

If someone owns a BIII and a printer, I would really appreciate it if they could print off the attached layout, and lay the BIII over top to see if everything lines up and fits. It's should be to scale if printed on a piece of 8.5 x 11 paper.

The only thing left to do is add the digital input connectors (if they fit) for the BIII so that both the BIII and BII can use the digital input section if people want. Can someone provide me with the location and pinout for this connector? (this is mostly a request for bigpandahk)

Also note that the RCA connector has been replaced with a BNC, and the jumpers have been replaced by a switch for switching between AES/EBU and SPDIF.

Any comments are welcome, and I'm still open to any suggestions people might have for improvements. I'd like to send this off for fab in a few days, so please let me know if anyone sees any issues.

Everything are perfect. You use output header 1 & 2 instead of 3 & 4 default for the ivy.

I've already indicated the digital input connector on the drawing. It's at the top of the PCB, a 2x10 pins 0.1" pitch DIN, from left to right are : DCK, D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6, D7, D8, VD. Below are extract from integration guide:

Although many will prefer to use input modules like the S/PDIF-4 Input Board and Sidecar, it is possible to connect digital sources directly to the Bufallo III DAC board.

any chance of actually putting a score mark to snap off the PSU this time mate? i'll still use it most likely, just as I am with the first one, but its more flexible for mounting ackodac if separate as the heatsinks from the psu get in the way of the regulator mounting arrangments

Hi. I have problem with my D1. I removed the PCB assembly to work on the case, and after I put it back I got noise (hiss, buzz, and fluctuation pulse in the audio, very disturbing).

I checked all the supplied and the DC voltage adjustment for the ESS DAC (Version 1), still ok at 1.6V after stabilization.

Any idea what can be the problem? Is my DAC PCB defective?
