I'm considering using an external clock with the Wolfson WM8804 SPDIF receiver in HW mode. Is it possible? Has anyone done that?
According to the WM8804 datasheet, in order to replace the Crystal by an external oscillator the 8804 should be in slave mode and in this case an external clock can be connected to XIN. But in this case I also need to supply LRCLK and BCLK, any idea how can I do that? The oscillator is 12MHz. |

Ignore the above question...
The Crystal can easily be replaced by an oscillator, in master mode. |
