Hi all, I have been using a 4 x tda1543 diy dac kit running off a 12v battery and it sounds quite nice. I have been looking online at the diy tda1541a dac kits and am keen to try one. Can anyone recommend one of them to me, there are quite a few there with different layouts.

The kit look quite nice and he do provide good quality caps.
The trouble is real TDA1541A is hard to find now a days. There a lot of fake DA1541A in the market. Another thing is support.
A lot can go wrong with a kit and you need a vendor who will be there to help you when you struck a problem.
If you like to continue that direction, I recommend you to read Lampizator mod/test 1st.

If you don't mind other diy DAC, the Y1 and Y2 (add on to Y1) of AMB is looking quite promising and not too expensive. They are small DAC but so far those who tried it like it a lot.

He did mention he will be coming out with a full desktop size kit but that can be sometime to come as Y2 is just going through beta test.
btw. support on AMB kit are exceptional. A lot of DIY build his kit so you'll get a lot of help. And AMB himself is a 'robot'.. don't think he ever eat or sleep.
