Default Wav -- Flac decoder IC ?

I know there are a ton of MP3 chips around but does anyone know
of a wav / flac decoder IC that you build a player around?

Hi,

It is possible with the VS1053 chip from VLSI.
You can download a 'plugin' by spi to the decoder.

I saw that shortly after I did this post.

I see a breakout board for it as well -- wonder if you've seen any
complete projects anywhere with schematics and code?

Call me lazy.

Either that or a mini itx motherboard, I'm thinkin.

Thanks.
