I2S vs SPDIF NOS TDA154X dac question.

I have a few Sony cdp with CXD1125 chip would like to mod it with NOS TDA1541A or TDA1543.

Is there any performance difference in listening between I2S and SPDIF NOS input?

Anyone have mod this before, which one is better?

hi!

as i understand its better to use i2s than spdif where possible.
(given that the cdp uses i2s, im not shure about that since its a sony cdp.)
that way you dont convert the signal from i2s to spdif and then back again.

but i never done any side by side compare, not shure i would hear any difference.

Oh yes you would indeed hear a difference. I2S is much better as you can control jitter much better.
I was consultant engineer in a High End company by the time when they wanted an upgrade of their top CD player and seperates. We changed from spdif to I2S - big difference!
