I'm looking for the criteria to design a good reconstruction filter, but i don't find too much till now. So

1) is it better to make it passive or active ?
2) Can I use inductors to do it or is better to avoid them because the filter could ring?
3) What about phase? I haven't find anybody tha speek about the phase linearity, but my personal opinion is that the phase is important too.
4) where shoud the filter begins to operate ? from 20 Khz or from an higher frequence?
5) Any suggest or scheme?

Thank you Aiace

I'm using the PCM1794 feeded by an ASRC. I want to experiment sevrale situations from high upsample to bypassing the ASRC. So I think i should better to begin to filters since 20kHz.
The board does not have any anti-aliasing.
No, I'm not using any transformer for now: I 've designed a discrete IV converter that I want to listen at.
