PCM1794 and other tipps/things to build a good DAC

Hi!

First, sorry for my bad english, im not very good at it

.

I Have some Questions:

I go to a technical school and next schoolyear i want to build a VERY good dac, no matter of his endprice!

And so, i search infos and tipps to build a dac (power supply, and all the things wich are important for a perfect DAC.

Also i have (at the moment) two questions:

Have anyone the eagle files for the two ICs: PCM1794 and DIR9001-Q1 (or if you know a better USB reciver...)

And my second queston is, what tipps can you give me for the dac?

Please be so serious to include a proper S/PDIF input as well.
USB and 'good DAC' don't combine really well.

thank you for the tip, but i dont need spdif because i will use it only with usb but if i find time i could integrate it. i take it on my whishlist

Hmm.
If you go that way: some reclocking/buffering or at least a good clock?

DIR9001 is not a USB receiver. You want something like PCM2706/7.

How about tapping I2S out from an EMU 0202 or 0404 USB?
