Default Audio Server Touch screen control - heads up programmers!

I assume most people here into music servers already know about the Sooloos server system. If not, read here and here.

Both reviews pay great attention to the touchscreen interface, which is what the subject of this thread is.

The Stereophile reviewer sums it up this way:

There are already dozens of music servers on the market, as well as an infinite number of home-brew PC variations. In my mind, however, a touchscreen system running intuitively designed software is the way to navigate thousands of audio files. By comparison, using iTunes to organize and play a large music library I now find simply frustrating. A good interface such as that of the Sooloos (or of an iPod, for that matter) keeps the complexity hidden while offering the user a powerful tool.
And I agree.

Ain't nothing wrong with running a server with a regular keyboard/mouse and software like EAC and Foobar, but what about taking it to the Sooloos level? Not for the fainthearted, but quite doable.

Hardware: obviously a touchscreen. No worries there.

Software, GUI: custom. Now, turns out EAC and Foobar both have SDKs so writing an interface (and that's all I'm talking about here) can use their libraries to control things via the custom GUI.

What I'd like feedback on is if anyone has pondered this idea of writing a touchscreen interface, and if there are other solutions out there using current open source players and rippers.
