Hi there,
I've got an rather ambitious project. I would like to hear some comments and maybe be directed to information to my needs. What i need is a playback for 16 channels audio perferable done without a computer. This should be in a form of hardware, with 16 audio outputs to be playback on speakers. A amplifier system will be done with kemo amplifier modules. So let's start with my audio needs 1) i would need to load 16 tracks audio files at 44.1khz at 16 bit into the system 2) the system recognises the tracks named track01 - track16 and splits it into 16 different audio channels. 3) buttons for play and stop are needed to synchronise playback and stop. The reason for this is that i would like 1 button to playback all the 16 tracks in sync and done without a computer. The system should be rather small like a half rack format. Volume knobs and on/off switches would be on the amplifier system which doesn't need to be in the 16 channel system. Is this possible to diy? any help would be appreciated. best jiize |

A few questions:
1. What is the means of loading the tracks? AD conversion from analog inputs, or reading digital data from another storage? 2. What is the latency requirement between input and output streams? 3. What playback quality are you aiming at? |
