Clock Linking DCX2496 units

I have an application where i need stereo in, and 4 way stereo out.

A local studio has a control room with some westlake monitor speakers that we are trying to get running again. Listening to the other westlakes in the other control rooms leaves us thinking there is some room for improvement.

Is it possible to clock link two DCX2496 units together?? Not sure if it really even matters. One of the other engineers seems to feel it would be necessary for phase accuracy.

Unit 1 would run the Highs, Mid highs, and mids, and the 2nd unit would run the lows.

Or, I guess, we could run the first unit in stereo 2-way and split the lows out to the woofer amp and run the rest into the 2nd unit for the mids/mhf/hf But then you are going through extra Ad/Da conversions.

Is there a reason that the two units would need to be clock sync'ed??

I can't think of a reason to do so. The relative phase of the analog signals depends on the type and steepness of filters you set, not on any clock thing. Probably even better NOT to sync them to avoid that digital noise reinforces each other.
