Hallo all. Is this what Mu metal looks like ??

Ooops sorry ! Looks a lot like lead to me.

Possibly -Mu Metal is usually a foil, say 0.01" thick or thereabouts. That may be lead for vibration damping. I can't think of another plausible reason for it to be applied like that.

They look suspiciously like the stick on lead weights (5g in the picture) used for wheel balancing on cars and motorcycles...

Yep, wheel balancing weights.
mu metal has about the same look. But sheets are some times rather thick (maybe 1/32 to 1/16 inch). I don't think that a foil would be as effective.

Mu metal just looks like like sheet stainless steel, with a brushed finish usually.

The shiny box at the rightmost end of the PCB is made of 0.010" Mu-Metal

Mu-metal can have various finishes, spotty to polished.

Agree those "5"s would work well as wheel-weights (lead).

A good builder-supply has lead flashing in sheets, which be better looking dead weight.

Many of the newer wheel weights are not made of lead.

Yep. That's why the weight is imprinted on them.
