Unless the wires are very thin (high resistance) or very widely spaced (high inductance), matching to with a metre or so will do. That assumes, of course, that the wires understand and obey the laws of physics. If you have wires produced by alien technology or snake-oil merchants then much closer matching may be needed.

Even alien wires will have to obey the laws of physics, if they understand them is a different matter of course.

what you show applies to one cable, usually a cable pair or a coax pair (core+screen)

but when you parallel multi strands, the capacitance must change.

Looks like that must be my first experiment. Confirm that a twisted pair is different from a star quad.
I have a few starter results.
Cut a 2.1m length of CAT5 marked PRESS-LINK 4/24 UTP 568-B.2 Category 5E 31783M

2 core twisted
102pF brn/brnwht shortest helix pitch
104pF org/orgwht
107pF grn/grnwht
109pF blu/bluwht longest helix pitch
for the 4 different twists.
All the cores were twisted clockwise looking end on.
All 4 pairs were also twisted clockwise in the lay, pitch ~130mm.

Paralleling 2pairs
209pF grn+brn / grn/wht+brnwht
213pF org+blu / orgwht+bluwht

paralleling 4pairs
425pF

using one pair as Hot and a second pair as cold, the hot to cold capacitance was:
77pF
