After soliciting links here Looking for DIY Interconnect Links I finally decided to try one of the links I originally found in my search as you can see here.
DIY Audio Electronics from Zynsonix.com: Building an easy pair of Cardas RCA Interconnects I found this blog very well written and it even though it left nothing out I added my own little twist. Rather than trying to write arrows on my interconnects I came up with my own idea. On the 'source' end I ran my heatshrink up so only two bands are showing on the Cardas connector. Looking at the picture below you'll see the other end has three bands showing. This is how I chose to differentiate between the two ends. ![]() Of all the tips in this blog the most notable ones I found were in regards to Cardas's enamelled wire and burning fingers. This wire is definitely enamelled. During the tinning of my wires the burning enamel was quite evident and left some noticeable residue that did need to be removed. As far as the burning fingers go I threw together a little mini C-Clamp jig that saved my fingers. ![]() All things said I couldn't be happier with both the performance and esthetics of my new interconnects. Combine that with the fact I can have the whatever length I want and I'm in DIY heaven. Regards, Dan

Thanks for your contribution to our hobby HF9. When time permits I'll get some friends over and do a comparison between my (your) ICs and my $900 Audience Au24's.
Regards Dan |
