4" Coffee Can Lid Speaker Grills

I am in the process of building a portable .mp3 player amp and found myself in need of speaker grills for the project. I came up with this cheapskate solution using metal speaker mesh, coffee can lids and coax clips.

I cut the speaker mesh using tin snips and formed it into a convex shape.

I then cut the center out of a coffee can lid and fitted the mesh into it.

I hot glued the mesh to the ring and used the coax clips cut down to size as retaining clips.

Voila, Cheapskate speaker grills....
