Joining 2 Heatsinks

I want to join 2 heatsinks to form 1 wide heatsink and was thinking of using 1 thick aluminium plate to do this. Will there then be heat conduction issues if I mount the devices onto the plate instead of onto the heatsink itself? Please advice. I will be using heatsink compound when joining the heatsinks to the plate.

I have here per side 4 heat sinks (vertical) connected with 3mm thick angle, 2sk82 on angle
