Default Aperiodic Loading From Phase Plug

I recently built a sealed enclosure for a driver with a phase plug.
After completion I noticed that the gap around the phase plug was moving quite a bit of air.
Is there any way to compensate for this aperiodic loading?
It will effect any box design.
