I have several used amps I want to mount new circuit boards in. Some have to be mounted at 90 degree angle to the heat sink. What do you use to hold up the board? I see some use a piece of L bracket to attach the outputs on then mount that on the heat sink. What kind and what thickness aluminuim would be good? And does it really conduct heat? Some of boards have such small mounting screws/mounting area that it's difficult to machine a bracket. Any help is appreciated..... pics?

For my L4780 chip heatsink, I used 5mm thick aluminium and put two slots a little less than the diameter of the coach screw. Then I fitted this Al vertical to the PCB with coach screws in the slots, by leaving some gap between the pcb surface and the edge with some washers.
