I recently built the KG12 stereo kit and am thinking of building a wooden case with a metal top. The tubes would be installed on top of this metal. What is the best way to install, rewire, and safty concerns?

All external metalwork must be grounded. Apart from that, wood should be fine.

I would post a picture but I can not figure it out. The kit was designed with a 2 prong plug so grounding leaves me confused. What is the best way without ruining the board to rewire my tubes to sockets mounted on the metal top? Can I just solder new leads off the original sockets?
