I wish to take the audio out on my iMac 27" computer and selectively send it to either my headphones or the desktop speaker system... i put together a fab box with stereo input jacks and spst switches (their purpose was to cut the ground feed to the speaker I wanted to be quiet... well, that didn't work worth beans. Get feedback and no switching... I have forgotten more than I remembered from my Navy electronics days I guess. ideally, I would have one switch to select from either the headphones or the desktop speaker system... Help??, no really, I need some help, a simple diagram, complex diagram, anything would help.

U could have done without the switch. If u pull out the headphone, the sockets have provision to go to the other socket.
