Default Point to Point build tips

This will be my 2nd attempt and doing a pp point to point build (first one didnt turn out so good). Any tips on what do do first?
I was thinking:
Wire heaters first as close to the alum chassis as possible, strait across the pp pair.
Wire the power supply in the corner.
Make a buss ground along the center of the amp out of solid core house grounding wire(12 gauge).
wire high voltage as close to the chassis as possible.
Wire the rest of the amp, trying my best to keep things at a 90 to the power and heater wires.

Also im wiring new school, so chassis is earth ground, then ground loop isolated to power/signal ground, and input is isolated from chassis. On that note im using an internal usb dac, and was wondering if i should earth ground the usb cable shield, or leave the whole thing float since pc shield is normally pretty noisy.

AC heaters need tightly twisted wire near the chassis. DC heaters it doesn't matter.

Bus ground is fine, as long as things connect to it in the right order and you don't use it as part of the PSU ground. Keep charging pulses well away from the bus, then just connect a single wire from PSU ground to bus.

Keep connections fairly short, and use grid stoppers (small ones for hi-fi, bigger for guitars).

When I'm running a busbar ground for input and preamp tubes I still make a star ground with the filter caps, output tube cathode connections, and bus connecting at the same point. This is also my ground to chassis point. This helps keep the output tube current and charging current out of the preamp stage ground.
