New Project code name "the project"

Hi im new and this is my first post. Great reading so far on the forum

im starting a project that will be three phase.


1. Build a volume control with a small display to show the volume (2 digits wide)
Kinda like the ones you have on the ipod headphones but need to have a display to show the volume level.

2. Build a Db meter to show the current Db on another small display (2 digit wide)

3. build an automatic volume reducer when the Db reach a level that is too loud it will automatically reduce the volume until the sound level is safe then put it back to what it was.

in the end this is what i want.

Audio in... Db displayed... checked by the "reducer"... through the Volume control... on to headphones

PS im a novice and if it takes a year then so be it, Its somthing I want to challenge myself with.
