I recently ordered a SMPS500R-Single 48V SMPS. It turns out that I should have ordered the 36V version. Does anyone here know if there is an easy way to modify my SMPS so it will output a lower V?

Due to topology used there is no easy way to change the output voltage within more than 10% limits without affecting it's performances or reliability. with classic, PWM power supplies either HB or Flyback, the output voltage can be adjusted to half or even lower with simple modification, usually just one two resistors. but these power supplies, 'R series, are optimized for efficiency and minimal noise so different topology is used which does not allow major deviation for output voltage. the only way to change it is to change the transformer, and few components from feedback loop.
special attention is required and know this fact when order them as sometimes buyers are chosing a higher or lower voltage version thinking that later might be used for another project with minimum changes which is not always possible.

Thanks for the info Cristi. I guess I will just have to order another SMPS and find a new project for this one.
Anyone know of a good project to use a single rail 48V smps on? |
