Yes, at the Presidio Yacht Club again. Right over the Golden Gate Bridge.

We had considered other venues but GGYC worked well last year, and our resources are if anything somewhat less than last year, so it isn't time to expand things.

We are getting our presenters and luminaries lined up. But the theme will be to audition a lot of projects that people bring, and in an organized manner! Sure it won't be scientific, but I think it will be informative and help us all choose what directions we want to go with our future projects..

Hi Mark,
If there is any way for me to make it out there again .... I did have a good time on my last visit.

I did find a good surplus store that allows walk-ins...
Maybe we need to redo the "Geek tour" Apple Comp, Fry's, Halted, the day after..
This time I'll know where they are!!

I went to BA 08, and it was great, lot's of free/cheap swag, cool gear, and great speakers (the human ones, as well as the projects).

Hopefully this year I'll have something built to bring along.

Two suggestions for this year's BAF or perhaps future BAF's:

A swap meet/tailgate thing would be cool. I'm sure lots of us have things to unload, errr, sell....and of course buy.

A hands-on session on using an oscilloscope to do basic amp testing would be wonderful, heck I'd even provide the unit under test and the scope. I'm sure there are multitudes of things to use a scope for of which I know about three. I can't be the only idiot who doesn't know their way around a scope.

I second the scope idea. Having one set up downstairs for continuous demos and possibly scheduled workshops would be great!

Is there anyone out there who would be willing to do that?

I think we should have a demo or tutorial on the effects of the room on the sound. The room is the 800lbs elephant that people purposely neglect.

Introduce the measurement tools, and how to improve or change the sound.

A full second day of workshops and tutorials is our dream. We'll do our very best for 2010

As long as we are brainstorming possible demos, how about a demo for bi-amping?

Does anyone have an active crossover they would be willing to bring? It would be interesting to take a pair of speakers that are capable of bi-amping and hear the difference in sound between bi-amping and mono-amping them.
