I, for one, am much comforted that we poor, lost audiosheep have a shepherd who will lead us out of darkness.

We will expect a suitable sermon sunday morning. Maybe something on the topic of appropriate worship for germanium transistors?

Jess

PS: this year you will only be allowed 3 hours instead of 8 to finish aany speakers you bring to the fest!

Jess,
I am fully determined to leave none of you behind to wander aimlessly in the wilderness of Audio Abstractions.
Germanium transistors? Yes, that would certainly be a suitable subject for a sermo..., a lecture.
I might even bring my Soundesign gear for demoing during my power point presentation. The top-mounted Turntable features a SOTA ceramic cartridge, which is seldom seen today.

Concerning time constraints, I recognize none that would come between myself and my art. However, if an axe or a chainsaw is available, I might be able to craft a masterpiece a little quicker. I will bring my own 24 oz. framing hammer and aged nails. I find that the process of slow oxidation lends itself to a mellower sound than galvanized nails which (in the opinion of many) have a brittle, harsh tone and are totally unsuitable for High-end speaker construction.

Best Regards,
TerryO

If you want something special to eat bring it. Bring your own intoxicants (althou if you only want a beer or 2 you'll probably be able to manage to bum that). If you have any special dietary requirements left me know. Jesse is bringing 3 salmons down, and we'll also be doing tacos.

Donations towards nutrients & non-alcoolholic beverages will be acceptable. In an emergency a big grocery store is 10 min down the road (and a beer & wine store a minute closer)

BTW. Barry is going to pick you up at the ferry.

OMG!
One of you two is bad enough, but both............
I don't understand why people like Dick Morgan and Ed West are even allowed at DIY Meets. They're sooo far out of the Audiophile mainstream with their unconventional thinking, that people like myself (that are perfectly centered in that mainstream), sometimes are made to feel...well, uncomfortable. Perhaps, if I read them a few pages out of Stereophile Magazine, it might help. Having heard the revealed Audio Truth, they will abandon their evil ways and return to the flock. It will be necessary that when they have realized the error of their ways, that we get them to the nearest approved Boze Sales Outlet as soon as possible, before they start backsliding and are lost forever.

Best Regards,
TerryO
Terry, I know that, speaking for myself at least, Edward and I have lost our respective ways, and wandered off on the path less taken. Having got there, I discovered that it lead to the ladies room. Not altogether a bad place to wind up (it was very tidy), but thats another story.

Having resolved to mend my ways, I looked to experience for guidance, and found a role model in the personification of a gray haired dumpster diver from Seattle. The audio gods, my component supply, and my wife willing, I hope to have my latest Terry O inspired creation with us when we arrive at the appointed place at the appointed time. I assure you, that not only will this creation adhere to DIY standards and offend the ears of those gathered, but also the sensibilities.

Cheers,

Dick

Mr. Morgan,

It would seem that I was overly hasty in my characterization. It seems that you have resolved to overcome those flaws that I earlier described. There is a slight correction in the above posting that needs to be addressed. The correct spelling is "Dumpster Divior", which is, being a proper noun, always capitalized. Note that the root word is also related to another word often used in conjunction with dumpsters: devour.

Looking forward to seeing both of you again.
Best Regards,
TerryO

Thanks Dave. I'll PM you my cell #. I can and will eat anything, hence the username, so I'll just contribute to the pot for food. I'll bring some good stout along myself to drink.

Any special requests for stuff from cowtown? Do you get Wild Rose beer over there?

Bad news is I don't have a single audio project that I wanted to bring done. But there is a chance to knock out a hybrid chipamp in the next couple of weeks, chassis' been ready a while now.
