Oh my, 11th already. 11 years. Y-e-a-r-s! I have to make it out there. I got very close to visiting July, 2011, as close as Goldstream park. I married in Nelson and went on a honeymoon road trip to the island. My wife was eight months pregnant and wanted to stop at the park for a rest before heading up to say hi. There was a bunch of crying,then she fell asleep on a bench and I watched eagles, until I fell asleep. We slept for five hours. We had to leave so we could make Vancouver by nightfall.

Hi Jeff,

Perhaps one of the Southern Cousins could bring one of their Main Battle Tanks. I don't know about the 200 Per Center, but I think Kev's is ready to roll. In the States, most guy's do their Heavy Armour Maintenance in the late Spring, so it's hard to know how many would be fully operational at this time. In the small town I live in, I'd be surprised if any more than 20 Tanks or Mobile Howitzers are at 100% readiness!

While there's still room for selective demolition, it'd need to be more surgically precise than heavy munitions could accommodate - a Cat would be more helpful with clearing, landscaping and road grading as well.

I'm all for a Tank ride, but there could be issues coming across the boarder.

The "real" question is "why not the goggles!" All of us youngsters know that sometimes it's just a cool thing to do!

Hmmm... 8/16. That's my last day of being 39 years old. Something tells me the DIY Fest isn't in the cards for me this year. I'm tempted, though...
