Howdy,
I have a demanding set of big, full range Von Schweikerts that run 6ohms nominal and have shut down many really good ±150wpc digital amps from PS Audio HCA-2 and Bel Canto eVo2, NuForce etc. when driven hard for long periods. I would really like to build a digital amp for fun, really like the design and philosophy and loved the sound from the ones I've owned, especially the HCA-2. I'm now running the 600wpc Spectron, which sounds truly great, but looking for something with the Spectron's power and imaging with the HCA-2's enthralling character and more ambient and rich character to better match my highly revealing and neutral Benchmark Dac-1 USB source. Thanks for any insights, any any links to specific kits or parts would be MUCH appreciated! |
