Hi,
Just completed my T-amp mod. I've reboxed everything and added some Mundorf Silver 2.2uF caps. New pot and on/off switch. I have included one of those 8080 SMPS that have been selling on ebay. The problem is noise. There is a little static noise all the time, but this is so low that it doesn't bother me. I have a different noise that comes and goes. It is a harsh sound, hard to describe exactly. It is there for a second and then disappears again. I have read that the t-amp+SMPS combo can produce some noise..... is this what I'm hearing? Please advice (and pardon my english)...

That's a hard question.
Can you tell us more about the noise that comes and goes? Might it be from something else in the Hi-Fi chain? Do you have another power supply that you can test with? Maybe even batteries?
