Maybe you can help? While replacing the C36 capacitor, the square pad on the underside came off. Is the + pin on that capacitor supposed to be connected to the rest of the foil on the underside? I can't tell. If so, can I just run some solder to connect?

I hooked up the amp and it seems to be a little uneven in the bass on one side. Is it my imagination or is that capacitor not properly attached?

The connection toward the back of the board (power plug end) is ground. That can be connected to the surrounding copper.

The connection toward the front of the board is positive. It can NOT be connected to the surrounding copper. But if you look at the trace you can see that it goes to the little SMD cap close by. You could run a jumper over there, or bend the cap lead and solder it at that point.

Thanks for the reply, but isn't the ground side of the cap the side with the "-" stripe on it? For the C36, the negative side would be towards the speaker outputs, right?

If you flip the board over, There's a large foil area underneath the chip and it looks to me like the positive side of C36 may have been connected to it (until the little square pad come off). This is the area I am unsure of. Whether the square pad on the underside should be connected to the large foil area.

However, I am wondering if its connected correctly because the amp works and sounds good. But, it just seems a little uneven to me. If that C36 capacitor was NOT connected, how would you expect the amp to sound? Would it even work on that channel?

I guess my problem stems from not understanding the PCB. Are the connections on the top of the board, underneath the board, or both?
