Class D Amp Photo Gallery

LOL
If you don't understand you may have a problem or maybe you let the frontend take care of the clipping behaviour? ;)

BTW
I think that you and Søren should open your own thread about your amp instead of posting ads all over the forum.

Thank you for your thinking.
We might just du that.
Anyways why do you think, that there is no general interest in this project?

BTW I also wonder why you are interested in clipping behavior.
The amplifier will automatically shut down at clipping level, so you won´t se a lot of clipping behavior, as this is not allowed.

I´d very much like to hear your conciderations about this matter, not just a LOL.

Rather industriual looking to some of the other creations here but that's what I wanted :)

Does anyone have any experience in modding this TPA3251 board? I have already bypassed the op-amps.

Cheers!

Toasty TPA3116D application

Fun with an antique toaster - Using a 19vdc laptop power supply to yield ~35wpc, sounds quite nice (note that the tubes are props)... Have constructed several similar steampunky creations from this particular TI-clone board - Have since moved on to a few Pass-clone Class-A implementations.

Hi amigos,

Just finished my double Mono Infineon MA12070
2x160W / 4 ohms
2 x100 / 8 ohms
24V / 150W PSU
balanced XLR inputs

It sounds fantastic, must listen it a bit more but 1h listening = really suprised, dead silence amplifier and fantastic sound stage.

Hi Danny.

Interesting choice of Power Supply. I have been researching alternative Power Supplies to the Mean Well LRS Series and came across the ones you used in this amplifier. The reviews do not look very good and apparently they create a lot of noise on the mains !!??

Why did you decide on this supply rather than the others you normally use ?

Review from an Italian buyer on Amazon for the 300 Watt model :-

The product looks good, but after seeing the internal circuit I have arisen some doubts. I say I'm an electronic technician so I know what I'm talking about. So
I did a simple test to see what the performance of this power supply is. The results were embarrassing.

With a load of 6.8A the voltage drops to 20V, increasing to 7.5A the voltage collapses to 18V and increasing the power supply turns off going into protection. To have a stable output voltage at 24V declared must not exceed about 5,5A. After all, we understand that we have a maximum power of 140W about the 300W declared, we are less than the goal!!

I think I like to break the codes. I tested tons of configurations, tons of amps, you can see all my reviews on this site.

Regarding this configuration for the MA12070; I admit that I took a risk) And it paid off since the amp sounds great, I have no background noise and even sticking my ears to my speakers. No pop when switching ON / OFF, I conclude that this setup works wonderfully) Dead silent amp here.

Just wondered why you needed the speaker protection boards with this amplifier as I thought pop suppression was already built in to the amplifier board ?

I also note that one side of the speaker protection is bypassed as all these boards seem to assume a common earth for both speakers !!

BushellJ, well, in short, I'd rather have them than not. The ON noise isn't a pop but still a click which puts the willies up me. Also, I have fried a handful of voicecoils owing to various things including class-d board malfunction.

What really concerned me was the aforementioned DC getting to speaker. These TPA chips don't like load on one half of the chip/circuit and not the other and although I am as careful as can be who knows? I may forget to connect one side, pump up the jam reconnect and then there's DC all over my face.

The boards are wired and modified as per manufacturers instructions for BTL boards. It requires removing two resistors.

Weird... I will have shared the opinion of BushellJ because I have the same 3E board that I mounted with a linear power supply and I have no problem with when switching ON / OFF, neither pop nor a "click" )

If you're happy with your setup, that's the main thing after all):)

Happy New Year Amp!

Over the weekend I gutted the chassis of a Toshiba SC-335 and put in an All-in-One TPA3255 with integrated SMPS from drMordor.

The meters are not yet connected, but the lamps are nice and bright.

It sounds absolutely fantastic, likely the best amplifier I’ve ever had in my system.

Thanks again to drMordor for a great amp and help with getting it running smoothly. I am very pleased with this project.

TAS6422 2.1MHz PWM Amp Casing

Hi Folks!

I put my TAS6422 2.1MHz Class-D Amplifier board into Takachi KC5-13-15BB enclosure.
Drilling and Text lettering were CNC 3018 pro MAX milling.
Plexiglass windows is also CNC milling cut.

This is my first CNC DIY...;)
