Maybe you should hire a web guy. Then you might find business picks up even more and you can hire 2 assemblers!

Default What every snow bird needs to know ...

1) There is a place where latin based languages are spoken and the sun shines year around.

2) The local populace understands how and why of soldering irons ... and can do mathematics as well as anyone on the planet.

3) Have a very good work ethic.

4) Have plenty of inexpensive factory space.

5) Have access to some of the best restaurants in the world.

6) Have a shop rate of about 1/2 that of Canada.

7) Have no import or export problems between USA and Canada. (NAFTA)

8) Have lower crime rates than most major Canadian cities.

.... Mazatlan ...

and they also have a significant perminant Canadian society ... and Irish ... and French ... and Chinese ... and US gringos ... and US$6 or CAD$7 or Euro$5 would be overpayment ...

US$400 round trip ( http://www.alaskaair.com/ in the West ) ... US$450 in the East ...

Heck you could take a box of boards on your lap down, spend a week while they are being stuffed, and fly home with money in your pocket ...

I agree with you. Overall it also helps economy, families, and society... people show up to work on time, are fed, better mood.. better work environment.

Good example you set.

Default Do you do Perdiem?

I am always looking for growth oportunities, and I do have a smidge of circuit level repair and can use a smoldering iron.

Let's do lunch.

That is very good money for that position. That's why I got out of the electronics business years ago, because the pay got lower and lower. Where I live, there is a plant that makes power supplies for cable and phone companies called Alpha Technologies. I knew a guy there a few short years ago who said he could get me 'on' in a minute, though they'd prefer someone with an engineering degree. Start out pay - $7.00 per hour (DOE)with yearly raises (based on merit) of .15 to .25 cents per hour.

McDonalds pays more.
