squealling Charlize

OK I turned my charlize on with a CD playing. It started making a poping sound about 2 min into the song, and then a sound like a bad connection. I stoped the CD, turned the amp off, and turned it back on only to get a couple of short squealling sounds out of it, and no more. It sounds as though the chip has lost bandwidth. Have I fried it, or are they fixable.

Maybe check for bad connections, or bad caps?
