1000W amp

Hi,
Im looking to build an active 18" subwoofer as a summer project.

The driver I have chosen for it is an Eminence one:

I now need to build an amp for this beast and was wondering if anyone had ventured into this field of high power amps and can give me any advice on what ICs to use or any circuit diagrams.

Are you determined to use class D for this application?

I have done a fair bit with amps this size in linear classes, and smaller designs in discrete class D.

I could help with something linear at this size though.

Dont use this speaker...It sound like a ''crap''! Use instead Selenium or Beyma! You will like it a lot!
