I have built one of these as a power amp. On my test bench with a variable headphone output it works o.k. In my main system with valve pre-amp it seems to be muting because of input overload. I have read the tech stuff on the chip on Tripath's web site and it has voltage overload protection, and a mute and sleep facility.
I can hear it "click" as it switches on, but no output. I think that I may have to reduce alter the gain. It is set at 40.8 (32.2db) By changing 2 resistors I can reduce it to 26.7db or lower to 21.6db. Do you think this will cure it ? |

I have found the problem. I reduced the gain by half. Ran o.k in test rig, but not in main system. Process of elimination found that it does not like my Ming Da Mc7 pre-amp. Runs fine with a passive pre and sounds great. It may be that the Ming has it's grounds connected, will have to investigate.
