powered woofer just hums

hi. i have a JBL plx-ps10 powered woofer. i used it for not 10 minutes. came back in the room and it was humming a constant tone. what could be the issue here? thanks.

Have you tried disconnecting the signal cable?

if i just plug the sub in the wall and not have it connected to the receiver, it still hums.

Their powered subs are pure junk and you may as well have thrown it out, feel lucky it lasted this long.

could it be the amp inside or what could it be? need i replace something or what? anyone know?

is there a simple way to replace this amp? i mean, is soldering needed, or can i just screw a new one in? to my understanding, these jbl amps are junk. is there an alternative amp that i could use for this woofer? i would really like to get this thing working. thanks
