Default UCD module source impedance

HI,

I was planning to use a passive attenuator to control the volume to my UCD module but I noticed that the specs recommend a max source impedance of 7K....

What are the results of high source impedance ? Is there a way of implementing a passive solution for volume control without having to implement a buffered system ?

Chris
