far as i can see.
i didnt leave anything out of the schematic except for the 1megohm resistor and .01muf cap across each cap. i have another xformer by the same company that does have a 18v-0v-18v secondary but its labelled just like that. should the shield be tied to 0v of the secondary ? i dont know if you can see the drawing clearly enough on the web. the middle post between the 0v and 61v is 40v. 0v-40v-61v. could it be a bad rectifier ?

center tap =0V
Check it with your meter on Vac from the rails. You need symmetry here. Like +30 0 -30 I'm assuming the 0V is the center tap and not a true earth. The screen needs to be connected to true earth, if not you will get an unbalance. By the way how were your other transformers wired anyway? |

is working right now uses 2 separate xformers with 2 separate rectifiers.
each xformer feeds a rectifier that feeds a cap. the caps are then in series for the +/-45v with the series point between the caps as the 0v/ground reference. can i parallel the ac from the 0v-61v to 2 rectifiers and then feed the 2 dc voltages to 2 caps like in the working psu ? thanks.

No because you'd be getting >60V a rail. I think what you need to do is bite the bullet and buy or find a proper transformer for the job. It doesn't seem like this one here is it. |
