T-amp air core inductors - DIY

I have some plastic spools (from wifes sewing bag) which I want to use to wind air core inductors for t-amp.

I've checked on-line multi layer calculators and found two useful sites

The spools are diam 11mm, length 15mm, wire guage 24 AWG (salvaged from old speaker crossover) & inductor target value is 10uH (I believe). The pronine site allows you to specify diameter, length of spool, wire AWG & inductance required.

This gives me 40 turns to wind - not too much of a job & if it works out it will be the cheapo's upgrade.

Has anybody wound their own - what should I look out for?

You might want to have a look at this thread.

The aircore inductors can sound very nice, if done right. And will almost certainly be better than the stock coils. Just be careful not to get RF back into your inputs -sounds awful. You will have a higher DC resistance on the outputs with your aircore coils. Might not effect your speakers, tho.
