If you call that advertising... they're not leading because of some fluke PCB that happened to work.

So, is that what a ColdAmp looks like Pierre?

I am not sure if I understand your question.
If you are asking that, yes, the coldamp modules I purchased/evaluated have toroidal coils (horizontally mounted and with a GND copper plane under them). Quite satisfied with their performance and sound, besides I don't have any EMI problems so far (and I am using it in my stereo with a FM tuner and TV set very near). To be sincere, I think Sergio did a very good work with them and they are also very helpful while supporting the customer.

Anyway I haven't had the pleasure of testing any Hypex modules to date.

Hm, few comments in the article got me thinking that picture included with it may have been ColdAmp, anyone have an idea what it is? It doesn't look familiar to me.

Sorry, classD4sure, what photo are you referring to? The oscilloscope shoot of "Amplifier A"?

Then I don't think so, as the coldamp modules, at least the ones I have, have around 250mV pp carrier residue at 260KHz, and much less ringing as well. The photo shows 800mVpp at 400KHz more or less.

I think that Bruno was not thinking on any amp in particular, but the comments may apply to several modules, such as CADAudio, some Tripath variants, etc.

Maybe the photos correspond to one of them, or ZAPPulse?

Nah, the module at the top, next to the title. Maybe one of Bruno's? I don't know. The connectors are little spread out though. Artist rendition perhaps.. Haven't seen that one before anyway.

Pierre, thanks for the compliments. We are glad you like your coldamps.
As you have pointed out, the photo of the output doesn't correspond to a coldamp either, our modules have much smaller residue and ringing, and operate at around 265KHz (a newer version, "BP4078 r2" will run at 360KHz with more rugged mosfets for 650W operation on 2 ohm ;-).
