Default potless t-amp

I plan on using my rehoused t-amp with a pre-amp. Can anyone tell me how to cut the pot out of the equation? e.g. can the L and R phono inputs be connected directly to the appropriate terminal on the terminal strip or does there need to be a 50K resistor between the phono connection and the terminal?
Thanks
Kelly
